In this unit, the children were introduced to the past and present. 

They developed an understanding of personal chronology and created a personal timeline using photographs of them.

They brought in amazing memory boxes from home which they discussed with their peers, sharing their favourite memories. 

They discussed celebrations such as Christmas, Remembrance Day and their birthday. We looked more in detail at how each child celebrates their birthday. We had ideas such as having some birthday cake, opening presents, family visiting, having a special takeaway and having a party. 

They learnt about how children in the past celebrated their birthdays, the toys they had and the clothes they wore. They looked at what was similar and what was different.
