Happy Chinese New Year from Reception. The children were told the story of the Chinese Zodiac, and we looked at how Chinese New Year is celebrated. We explored the celebration throughout our provision areas. We had decorating lanterns, creating masks, doing dragon dances, matching up mandarin numbers, creating a temple and more. 

To especially celebrate the Year of the Snake, the children worked together to make a class paper chain snake. They were very proud and wanted to make it as long as they could. They each designed slips of paper and with adult support, each one was stapled together.
