C_H_R_I_S_T_M_A_S Spells Christmas
Why do we do a Christmas production, when our Year 6 curriculum is soooo packed!? Read on, and find out…
- Performing on stage helps pupils build self-esteem, improve communication skills, and develop the confidence to present in front of an audience - valuable life skills that support their transition to high school. This year, there have been some real surprises as the children have fully immersed themselves in their roles!
- A Christmas production provides an opportunity for pupils to express themselves creatively through acting and singing, while fostering collaboration, tolerance, problem-solving, and team-building skills. In all honesty, the support the children have shown each other has been fabulous: rehearsing together - sometimes before school, on the weekends, or even during playtime.
- Participating in a production exposes pupils to the arts, promotes an appreciation for performance and storytelling, and encourages empathy as they step into different roles and characters.
- Productions create a sense of unity and pride amongst our pupils and staff, offering a shared experience that reinforces our school values and traditions.
- Amid a jam-packed curriculum, a Christmas production provides a fun, memorable, and festive activity that enriches our pupils’ school experience. The amount of laughter we’ve shared during this production has been incredible. I have to admit, the times I’ve spent laughing with the class - or hiding behind my script when something has gone wrong - have been priceless. I’m sure Miss Robinson and Mrs Rhodes would admit the same! The children have truly learned to laugh together, not at each other.
The sense of pride we feel as a staff, watching the children perform, is the best Christmas present we could ask for!
