Scholastic Book Fair & FCL

A HUGE thank you to the FCL for running the recent Book Fair. Thank you too for the forward-thinking, looking at the books and purchasing the ones below for school. Thank you also to our parents and children for supporting the event.

New KS2 Take-Home Readers

KS2 pupils and staff, would like to say a huge thank you to the Friends of Cams Lane, for the money that they provided for our new Take-Home Readers. Our Key-Stage 2 stock had become very depleted, and out of date!

It’s been lovely, to have specifically chosen, age-appropriate Reading for Pleasure books in our classes.

They have made great displays, highlighted by lovely new sparkly lights, but much more importantly, have renewed the children’s interest and enthusiasm for reading. So much so, that some pupils have gone out and bought books by the new authors that they have been introduced to!

So far, the books have remained in our classes, where pupils have enjoyed looking/reading some of them and making recommendations to their friends. After Easter, if we can bear to do it, they will be coming home as Take-Home Readers!!
