In this unit, the children were introduced to a range of materials such as metal, plastic and wood. From this, they looked at the properties of each material, such as bendy, smooth, hard and transparent. We looked at a range of objects and discussed what materials they were made from, such as a fork is made out of metal or a window is made out of glass. We carried out a few investigations in this unit from floating and sinking to seeing which materials are absorbent.
